Whakapapa / Origins

Seed The Change | He Kākano Hāpai brings together a number of philanthropic and investing instincts from two generations (and counting) of activist solution-builders. 

It is informed firstly by projects initiated by the late Dr Maarire Goodall which have been expanded on by his son Anake; both in approach and in the establishment of a values-aligned investment portfolio to fund future work.

This shared DNA is in service to social justice issues, environmental regeneration, and activities that celebrate the expression of our shared humanity. While our interest is always in the long game, our initiatives are usually in the form of helping establish independent platforms as the building blocks of change; lighting "long fuses" that contribute year after year to the arc of progress over time.

Seed The Change is an amalgam of past endeavours, current experiments and activities, and explorations of possible future directions of travel. It is intentionally emergent, and would like to work alongside values-aligned change agents with similar interests.
